This authentic Sheraton or late Federal dropleaf American Pembroke table dates from the 1820's, and is in wonderful condition. Hand crafted of solid mahogany, the top is cut from a single plank over 22" wide. The spiral or rope twist legs terminate in original brass feet with wheels. Matched flame grain mahogany is on the aprons at both ends of the table.
Sturdy and very solid, the drop leaves are supported by wooden swivel arms underneath. The rich deep finish is excellent, and there are minor repairs, especially at the hinges, which is typical. Underneath is all hand planed on this genuine antique furniture from the East Coast.
These elegant tables served a multitude of purposes, and dimensions are 30" tall, 23 1/2" wide, and 40" long with the drop leaves down, with the drop leaves up, the size is 40" x 51."
