Brilliantly polished intricate marquetry distinguishes this elegant dropfront secretary desk with a bookcase top. Truly dazzling workmanship is evident everywhere on this vintage desk from about 40 years ago. On the exterior and inside the dropfront there are vivid floral designs and scroll work of inlaid satinwood, tulipwood and other exotic species against a background of glowing rosewood.
The interior is beautiful with tiny drawers and compartments. The upper section is separate for moving, and there are only miniscule scratches and mars to this virtuoso secretary. Dimensions are 36" wide, 18" deep, 6 1/2' tall, and the writing surface is 30" above the floor.
