Georgian Chippendale Secretary Desk, Bookcase Top

This Classic Georgian or Chippendale design secretary desk has a bookcase top. All the traditional features are here - carved claw and ball feet, a graceful serpentine front, arched pediment with "flame" shaped finials, and secret compartments.

The deep rich finish is very fine, large dovetailed drawers have heavy solid brass pulls, and supports extend automatically when the front of the desk is opened. Inside are 15 tiny drawers and compartments, plus 2 "secret" drawers.

There is some wear to the writing surface, which is 30" above the floor. Bookcase shelves are adjustable, and this is exquisite vintage furniture from about 1940. Size is 40" wide, 21" deep and 7' tall.
