This American Empire dropleaf table has a glorious center pedestal with a tapered column and graceful legs terminating in brass paw feet and wheels. The top and dropleaves are cut from single planks of beautifully figured solid mahogany with a gleaming polished finish.

Solid and substantial, this authentic antique furniture was hand-made about 1825 on the eastern seaboard. The cast brass feet are impressive, and this table has many possibilities - a sofa table or console, or a breakfast, buffet or dining table.

Supporting each dropleaf are double wooden hinged arms, and underneath are marks from a carpenters hand planing. There are old losses at the lower corners of the aprons under the ends of the table, see photos.

When closed, this classic table measures 23" wide, 54" long, and 29 1/2" tall, legroom under the ends is under 23." With both leaves raised, this table is 54" wide and 5'2" long.
