This nostalgic American sideboard or buffet is carved of solid cherry and birch hardwoods with incised and intricate designs of the era. It was made during the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1880.
Brasses and the beveled glass and mirror are all original, notice the scratches and "smoke" in the mirror, which could be resilvered if desired. The marble top is excellent, and the richly toned finish has very warm patina. Drawers are dovetailed, and the marble and upper mirror and gallery section are separate for easier handling.
Antique furniture with exceptional charm, measurements are 4' wide, 21" deep, 6'10" tall, and the top of the marble is 3' above the floor. A-S1690 This item has sold.
