This splendid antique bedroom set is from the late Victorian or Eastlake period, with incised graceful "spoon-carving." The set includes a queen size bed, small chest, and dresser with mirror.
Solid walnut with burl panels, the original brasses and finely detailed moldings are exceptional. The finish is excellent, all drawers have the distinctive "pin and cove" style of round dovetail joinery.
This is outstanding American antique furniture from about 1875.
The bed has been adapted with modern steel rails to fit standard queen bedding as shown in the photos. Size is 55" wide, the headboard is 57" tall, and the footboard is 31" high. The bedside stand or small chest is 28" wide, 17" deep and 35" tall. An original beveled swivel mirror and candlestands surmount the dresser, which is 40" wide, 19" deep and 6'4" tall.
