Maddox Cherry Blockfront Secretary Desk Bookcase Top

    This classic American Chippendale block front secretary desk has a triple bookcase top. Solid cherrywood, this vintage desk is signed by prominent maker, "Maddox, Jamestown, NY."

The drop front has automatic supports that extend when opened, inside are secret compartments and tiny drawers. Two pull out candle stands are above. The original finish is excellent with very little wear, and the embossed brasses are also original from about 25 years ago. Drawers are dovetailed. Shelves in the separate upper section are adjustable.

Beautifully made traditional furniture, the arched pediment is especially stunning. Measurements are 39" wide, 22" deep, 7'7" tall, the writing surface is 28" above the floor. C-S1770
