An American Empire dresser or chest of drawers was hand-made about 1840. The "chimney pot" moniker comes from the backsplash with a raised "chimney" at each end, like a New England house. Sleek curving lines and matched shimmering flame grain mahogany make for gorgeous antique furniture.
The "Sandwich" glass knobs appear original. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails, everything is hand planed, and square nail heads are visible on the back of this historic chest. The lustrous finish is excellent, and drawers fit well and slide smoothly. Dimensions are 44" wide, 20" deep and 4' 6 1/2" tall.
