Expertly crafted by master carvers about 1895, artistic high-relief carving with life-like graceful angels in natural poses, and swags of rosebuds is complemented by deep architectural moldings.
Mostly original with some re-varnishing, the finish is excellent, with some "character" - separations, small mars and losses - as would be expected in authentic antique furniture from this era. Embossed brasses are original and complete, the shaped and beveled mirrors are also original, drawers have hand-cut dovetails.
This useful server or chest measures 3'5" wide, 2' deep and 6'4" tall. The top cherub is missing the toes on one foot - see photo.
