A stunning Georgian or Chippendale style dining set represents the height of classic design. The table is said to be from Hickory Chair's "Charleston Collection," but the signature is gone and we cannot be certain of the maker.
The center is brilliant matched flame grain mahogany, with an opulent border of ebony, rosewood, and satinwood. Supported on solid mahogany pedestals with brass feet, there are two 22" leaves that match and fit perfectly. Almost new, this table has been on display but never served a meal.
The polished satiny finish is excellent, there are only minute imperfections. Measurements are 46" wide, 29 1/2" tall, 6' 1/2" long when closed, and 9' 8 1/2" long with both leaves in place.
Ten matching solid mahogany chairs are carved in the Georgian style, with delicate detailing. These traditional chairs are virtually new, never used for dining. There are tiny variations and irregularities that show they were truly hand carved, the semi-glossy finish is excellent. All are large and comfortable sturdy chairs, with neutral upholstery that can easily be changed to accommodate any setting.
They are 21" high, and rungs between the legs are for added strength. The two armchairs are 26" wide, 23" deep and 41" tall, the 8 side chairs measure 22" wide, 23" deep and 41" tall.
All chairs and the table are completely solid, and this set is exceptional in every way. E-LH4
