New England Country Pine Mule or Blanket Chest

Hand made in New England about 1830, this blanket chest has a lift lid and large drawer in the base. Often called a "mule" chest, the top and sides are single wide pine boards.
The drawer has beautiful hand cut dovetailed joinery, and on the backside hand cut nailheads are visible. Every board is hand planed, and there is lots of character - wear and mars to this charming rustic antique furniture.
The warm medium brown finish is very fine, size is 40" wide, 19" deep and 35" tall.
