Folk motifs are hand-carved on this solid oak country secretary desk with bookcase top. Raised panels are all hand chamfered, and there is a secret compartment hidden in the crown. Inside are cubicles for papers, the back is rough sawn boards.
Dating from about 1890, the finish is in very good condition with a few shrinkage separations.
Measurements of this charming antique furniture are 47" wide, 26" deep, 6'4" tall, and the writing surface slopes down from 30" to 27" above the floor.
