This four-burner antique brass lamp was made about 1840 when whale oil was the luxury lamp fuel.
Solid hand cast brass, the lid can be raised on the center shaft to fill the font. Cloth wicks were used at each port, and on chains are a wick trimmer, snuffer and poker to adjust the flame. There is solder repair on one arm of the lamp, see photo.
