Authentic antique Wisconsin country furniture, this combination jelly cupboard and pie safe dates from the 1890's. Well made by a country carpenter of maple, ash and elm, the side panels are pierced to ventilate fresh bakery. Shelves could also hold home-canned jams and jellies from harvest time.
The golden brown finish is excellent, there are a few mars and stains to give a nice old patina.
This hardy cabinet is signed on the original shipping label, "Wm. Schwartz, Plymouth, Wis."
Measurements of this charming farmhouse piece are 42" wide, 17" deep and 59" tall.
