A pair of authentic New England antique "rope" beds have brackets installed to accommodate standard twin or single bedding. Handmade about 1835 of pine and maple, every surface is hand-planed.
Deep turnings on the posts have charming variation from a skilled craftsman. The finish is in very good condition with warm patina.
This pair of beds are picturesque antiques, and very solid furniture. Originally, rope was woven through the holes in the frame to create a "spring" under a feather bed.
Iron supporting brackets are 16" above the floor, so the height of a mattress and pallet or inner spring can be measured to determine a final height. Overall dimensions are 46" wide, 46" tall and 6'9" long.
