This lavishly carved mahogany dining set is signed by famous American maker, "Romweber of Batesville, Indiana" who have helped furnish the White House.
The set includes 6 newly upholstered chairs, a table with 2 leaves, large sideboard and a huntboard. The detailing is exceptional with a Greek key border motif, and remarkably intricate workmanship.
Dating from about 1950, this vintage furniture has a lustrous finish that is excellent throughout, enhancing gorgeous matched flame mahogany.
The table is supported by double carved pedestals, there are 2 leaves with aprons that match and fit very well. Around the top is delicate burl banding, size is 44" wide, 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 26 1/2" and length is 68" closed, with both 14" leaves in place, total length is 8.'
Six chairs are good-sized and comfortable, the pair of large chairs are 24" wide, 24" deep and 37" tall. Four side chairs are 21" wide, 22" deep, 37" tall and seats are 19" high.
The large sideboard or buffet has a dramatically curved front, lined silver drawer with dividers, and measures 6'2" long, 22" deep and 35 1/2" tall.
Huntboard size is 42" long, 21" deep and 35 1/2" tall, it has a gracefully bowed front.
