This richly carved oak 10 piece dining set looks like it belongs in a stately English country manor. The set includes a table with 2 draw leaves, 6 chairs, china cabinet, sideboard or buffet and a smaller hunt board.
The tops are matched quarter sawn panels, framed in solid oak. Deeply turned legs show Henry VIII or Renaissance design with bold carved detailing and moldings. The lustrous deep brown finish is excellent - every piece is rugged and durable. Drawers have dovetailed joints, and brass pulls are all original. This is very strong and hardy antique American furniture from the 1920's.
A 14" wide leaf can be pulled out at each end of the table, and raised into position. Table dimensions are 40" wide, 31" tall, legroom is 25 1/2" underneath, and length is 5'4" closed, with both leaves extended, total length is 7'8" long.
Six chairs are newly padded and upholstered, the two armchairs measure 26" wide, 26" deep, 42" tall, seats are 20" high. Size of the four side chairs is 22" wide, 23" deep and 42" tall.
The china cabinet is 44" wide, 20" deep and 5'7" tall. A large sideboard or buffet measures 5'9"long, 24" deep and 41" tall.
The smaller sideboard was called a huntboard, intended for a cold buffet supper of smoked meat, fish and cheese after hunting. Measurements are 41" long, 21" deep and 37" tall.
