Renaissance Carved Walnut Console or Dressing Table

This magnificent Renaissance design console or dressing table vanity has columns with Ionic capitals. It is hand carved of walnut with matched burl.

Majestic antique furniture crafted for a palazzo in northern Italy about 1915, the finish is excellent with wonderful warm patina and only slight wear. The carved artistry in high relief has grandeur and sophistication, boldly scaled and well proportioned.

Drawers have hand-cut dovetails and the cast bronze hardware is original. The arched beveled mirror is also original, and the carved frame is exquisitely pierced. Size is 4'5" wide, 5'3" tall, 19" deep and the top surface is 23" high.
