This classic Victorian secretary desk has a barrel or cylinder roll top. Carved of solid walnut with burl panels about 1870, the warm finish is superb with wonderful golden patina and very little wear.
The upper bookcase section has adjustable shelves and is separate for handling. Above the leather pull-out writing surface are tiny compartments. Embossed brass pulls appear original, the matched burl on the roll is stunning and drawers are hand dovetailed. Characteristic incised carving shows the beginning of Eastlake design on this American antique furniture.
Dimensions are 29" wide, 21" deep, 7' tall and the writing surface is 29" above the floor.
