A "bombe" or convex shaped antique chest or dresser is also called a commode, and is magnificent quarter-matched walnut burl with rosewood and satinwood inlaid banding. The lustrous finish is excellent with wonderful deep rich patina. Sometimes called "oyster" burl, there are minor mars and chips at the edges.
Dating from about 1900, bronze pulls are original, drawers have hand-cut dovetails and original brasses. Robust and very usable furniture, this graceful chest would beautify many rooms.
Dimensions are 4'9" wide, 24" deep, and 36 1/2" tall.
The Baroque gold antique carved mirror can be attached to the dresser or hang on a wall separately.
Hand-carved about 1900, this lavish Baroque style mirror has a rich, deep bronzy gold finish. Scale and proportions are imposing, the original mirror has slight "smoke" to show its age. This elegant antique can be mounted to a piece of furniture, set over a mantel, or hung on a wall. There have been touch ups to the finish over the years, and size is 46" wide, 46" tall and 3" deep.
