New England Empire Cherry Chest or Dresser

This beautiful solid cherry chest or dresser was hand-made during the transition from late Sheraton to early Empire periods about 1820.
New England craftsmanship is shown with hand-cut dovetails, chamfered drawer bottoms and hand planed boards. The finish is excellent with glowing patina and rich cherry color. There are stains on the top to the right, see photos.
A nostalgic American antique, this stately dresser has perfection of design and proportions plus ample storage space. Size is 45" wide, 21" deep and 47" tall.
