Empire Carved Mahogany Pawfoot Sofa

An outstanding example of grand Empire design, this sofa is carved of solid mahogany and has lion paw feet and eagle head crests, plus cornucopia or horn-of-plenty motifs. Sweeping scrolled arms are gracious.
The gleaming finish is excellent in a rich deep color on the solid and very usable frame. Traditional upholstery is in very fine condition as well. Formal and very erect seating, this is elegant American antique furniture from about 1900.
Size of this classic sofa is 5'8" wide, 2' deep, 41" tall and the seat is 19" high.
