French Carved Rosewood End or Bedside Table, 1890

This antique nightstand or end table shows unrivaled quality and meticulous workmanship everywhere.

Expert rococo carving is in high relief, panels are diagonally matched. The drawer has hand dovetailed oak sides, and even the rear legs are carved.

Rosewood has a sublime delicate grain and color, is extremely hard, and has a silken original finish on all four sides. Furniture dating from the 1890's, this bedside table has a rouge marble top and is lined in white marble. Knobs are original, there is a chip to the lower one.

Dimensions are 16" square and 33" tall. Matching companion pieces are available separately.
