Empire Octagonal Antique Center or Lamp Table

A stately American Empire period center or lamp table is octagonal with four drawers at the corners, it may have been used as a game table. The top is solid curly grain mahogany, the base is matched flame grain mahogany.
Hand-made about 1840 in the eastern U.S., the satiny finish is excellent. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails, chamfered bottoms and square nails.
Size of this graceful antique furniture is 30" in diameter and just over 29" tall, including the removable wheels.
