A prestigious late Victorian or
Eastlake period chest or dresser with
marble top would serve as an
enchanting vanity cabinet for a vessel
sink.
Carved of solid walnut about 1880,
there is a swivel mirror above. Heavy
weight cast brasses are original,
there are accent panels of burl walnut
and the lustrous finish is excellent.
Drawers are dovetailed, the center
jewelry drawer locks and is opened
only with a key.
Antique American furniture, there is
incised or "spoon" carving,
characteristic of the period.
Brownish "Tennessee Red" marble is
also original and in very fine
condition.
Size of this historic chest and mirror
is 50 1/2" wide, 24" deep, 6'6" tall
and the marble top is 30" high.
