Spectacular carved oak panels are hand-carved with three-dimensional scenes of hunting, fishing and gathering grapes. Picture-framed artistic high-relief scenes are remarkable, they are hand carved in single blocks of oak with deep perspective. The center panel is signed "HD," but the artist is unknown.
Lion paw feet and heraldic crests are also distinguished. The medium brown finish is excellent, the interior is finished and has drawers and adjustable shelves. Sensational craftsmanship dates this antique furniture to the 1930's.
Imposing in a library or office, this cabinet would also be resplendent in an entryway or dining room. The left lock is operational, the right one is not - the key is only a handle. Measurements are 5'4" long, 22" deep and 47" tall.
