Country French 1760 Sideboard,or Vessel Sink Vanity

Authentic Country French furniture from about 1760, this beautiful rustic hand-carved oak sideboard or server would make a fabulous vessel sink vanity.

Entirely hand-made, tool marks from hewing and planing the fine grained French oak are visible everywhere. Hand-carved oak pegs secure the joints. Shaped doors with raised panels are especially graceful. Wrought iron hardware, including the lift-off hinges appear original.

The finish is very fine, there is lots of character - separations, mars and stains. There has been some rebuilding, especially to the interior floor and shelf as would be expected over the ensuing centuries. The later marble top is in excellent condition.

A sound and hardy country antique, size is 4' wide, 25" deep, and 33" tall.
