Victorian Mahogany Antique Bench, Carved Griffins

Richly carved of mahogany about 1900, this lavish bench or settee has deeply carved griffins, claw and ball feet and panels of gorgeous flame grain mahogany. Every side is gracefully curved.
The original finish is dark with crazing or crackling from age. Very robust furniture, there are mars at the edges and some old shrinkage separations - see photos.
Measurements of this dramatic American antique are 4' wide, 2' deep, 40" tall, the shaped seat is 18" high.
