A set of 12 picturesque Victorian "pressback" carved dining chairs is in beautiful condition. Solid ash and maple hardwood, the warm medium brown finish is excellent.
Double rungs or stretchers on all four sides plus curved "hip-huggers" make these chairs durable and strong, there is no wiggle or wobble to these antique chairs. The curved backs, flat spindles and sculpted seats are comfortable.
These chairs have been expertly re-glued for strength and durability, the joints are tight and solid. Chairs are the hardest used of all furniture, they need more gluing, tightening and restoration than another household furnishing.
Our skilled woodworkers have checked for problems, disassembled, removed old glue, applied fresh glue and clamped these chairs to give them another generation of service. The price of our chairs includes restoration, and they are ready to use - durable and usable for modern lifestyles.
Dimensions are 20" wide, 19" deep, 38" tall and seats are 18 1/2" high.
