Very heavy weight, a cast brass mortar and pestle set is hand hammered. There are handles on the mortar, plus an indecipherable soldered seal on the bottom. Used in a pharmacy to grind medicine, this antique set dates from the mid 1800's.
The pestle is 10" long, the mortar is 5 1/2" tall and 6" across.
