Carved Marble Top Antique Server Sideboard

    This marble top sideboard or server is a work of art in solid walnut, and was made about 1895. Panels are magnificent - carved from solid blocks of walnut hardwood in high relief by a master, backgrounds are "tooled" to enhance the delicate three-dimensional artistry.

The marble has delicate grain and is in excellent condition, the mostly original finish is exceptionally well preserved with wonderful warm patina, there are a few tiny shrinkage cracks due to age. Embossed brasses are original, drawers are hand-dovetailed.

The upper section is removable for handling, this masterpiece is clean and meticulous inside and out. Dimensions of this majestic antique furniture are 5' wide, 28" deep, 8' 6" tall and the marble top is 38" high.
