Hand-made by a country carpenter, this primitive pine dough box has hand-cut corner dovetails and pegged legs. The one-board lid lifts off, bread dough was allowed to rise inside.
Entirely hand-planed, there is lots of character - mars, stains and charming wear. The finish is very fine with warm patina on this American antique from the middle 1800's.
Picturesque rustic furniture, square nailheads are visible. Size is 32" long, 15" wide and 28" tall.
Item # S-D1897
