Empire Antique 1825 Carved Mahogany Sofa

An authentic American Empire period sofa was hand-carved of solid mahogany about 1825. The matched flame mahogany is gorgeous on a sturdy and solid frame. Carved paw feet and classical acanthus leaf motifs are pure woodworking artistry. This sofa is exceptional.
The polished finish is excellent, there is remarkably little wear or mars for its age. Bolsters are removable, this furniture has been newly upholstered in appropriate fabric of the era. This fabric is a true red and we would be happy to mail you a swatch.
As comfortable as these antiques get, springs are firm and supportive. Measurements of this historic East Coast furniture are 7' 4" long, 26" deep, 34" tall and the seat is 19" high.
