Hand-carved of solid mahogany with matched flame grain panels, this sweet pair of American Empire period chairs dates from about 1835. Strong and solid frames have a deep and impeccable finish.
Newly repadded and upholstered, the removable "slip" seats can be covered to match any decor. This historic furniture pair with saber legs is said to be from New York state, the shape of the splat is the reason they are sometimes called "fiddle-back."
Size of these antiques is 18" wide, 20" deep, 33" tall and seats are 18" high.
