An elegant carved antique French Louis XV design rosewood armoire dates from about 1890. The original finish is excellent with warm patina. Exquisite diamond matched panels are outstanding.
The wonderful Roccoco crests are truly amazing and show stunning artistry. Expert hand carving is in high relief, panels are diagonally matched.
Rosewood has a sublime delicate grain and color, is extremely hard, and has a silken original finish with warm antique patina. The interior is oak and bird's eye maple with shelves adjustable on wooden supports. There is a hand dovetailed drawer at the bottom.
This antique furniture can be disassembled for moving. Brasses are original, and beveled mirrors have a hint of "smoke" to show their age. Minor mars at the edges and shrinkage are as expected with age. Curved lines show superior craftsmanship and quality.
Measurements of this exquisite antique furniture from France are 8' 4" tall, 5' 4" wide and 20" deep, interior depth is 15 1/2."
