Councill 8' Mahogany 16 Drawer File Cabinet

From an exceptional executive suite, this traditional 8' long file cabinet with 16 drawers is signed by high-end maker, "Councill." Superior quality in every way, drawer sides are finished solid oak with dovetailed corners and smooth ball bearing suspensions, brass pulls are heavy weight, and the original polished finish is excellent with only minor wear, see photos. Four 30" wide file sections fit together, and all 4 sections are finished on the sides. The right and left sections also have crown and base moldings on the outer..... see similar items

Rosewood Antique Bookcase or Curio Marquetry & Brass

A regal and elegant rosewood bookcase or curio cabinet has beautiful banding and marquetry in exotic tulipwood, mahogany and satinwood, plus brass moldings. Sophisticated cabinetry from about 1875, the finish appears original and has gorgeous warm patina. There are small losses and mars at the edges, see photos. Doors on this antique neo-classical furniture have original wavy glass, and the adjustable shelves have inlaid banding on the front edge. Size is 3' wide, 13" deep and 5'2" tall.  (added September 6th, 2008)

Georgian 1800's Mahogany Secretary Desk w Bookcase

This authentic Georgian style secretary desk has a bookcase top with wavy glass panes. Masterfully crafted of mahogany in the mid to later 1800's, this antique furniture is in wonderful condition. The top "drawer" is actually a pull-out desk with a leather writing surface, tiny compartments and drawers with beautiful little hand-cut dovetails. Polished to a gleaming patina, the finish is excellent, enhancing the brilliant flame grain mahogany. Minor mars and scratches to the finish and chips at the edges add character to the exceptionally.....  (added September 6th, 2008)

Victorian Miniature Jewelry Safe 1880 Original Paint

The sweetest little jewelry safe we have ever seen still has its original paint and pin striping from the 1880's. Cast iron with a brass lock, we have had a locksmith sleuth out the combination, and the lock works. This antique has many scuffs and mars, and is lined in wood. Size is 10" wide, 9" deep and 12" tall.  (added September 6th, 2008)

Antique Carved Italian Marble Top Chest, Gold Mirror

Gracefully carved in Italy about 1910, this majestic four-door antique chest or dresser is walnut with inlaid banding, and has a matching carved mirror in beautiufl burnished gold. Dramatic moldings, convex panels and striking hand-carved details are characteristic of palazzo furniture from the Piedmont region of Milan. The original finish is superb, and this antique furniture is in wonderful condition. The figured marble is undamaged, there are minor touchups to the mirror frame - see photos. Hand dovetailed drawers are finished inside and have original brass.....  (added September 6th, 2008)
