Signed "Ling and Chandler, Detroit," a genuine rosewood melodeon or early pump organ dates from about 1865. It plays very well, all the notes except the highest "D" work for us.
The music desk is a later replacement, natural keys are original on this American antique musical instrument.
Beautifully figured rosewood has an old and worn finish with warm patina. Waxed and polished, it needs only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain its luster.
Size is 57" wide, 26" deep and 31 1/2" tall.
Item # C-M685
