Crafted of solid oak about 1900, we are not sure whether this antique box or chest was originally a hopper or bench, the removable tin liner might have been intended for firewood, chilled wine or potatoes.
The top has been revarnished for durability, the rest of the finish is in very fine condition, waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. Panels are raised and there are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Measurements are 31" wide, 14" deep and 22" tall.
