This set of Victorian period sterling silverware from about 1880 is lavishly engraved with brilliant artistic hand cutting signed "sterling" with a lion hallmark, and includes a set of twelve pearl handle knives. This group is in excellent condition with minor wear as shown in photos. Hand made in America, the 50 piece antique set includes:
<ul><li>Twelve 7" dinner forks <li>Twelve 5 3/4" teaspoons <li>Six 7" soup spoons plus serving pieces: <li>Six 8" serving spoons <li>7 1/4" master butter knife <li>4 1/4" jelly or mustard spoon
Twelve 9" dinner knives with genuine mother of pearl handles and silverplate blades signed "Towle" silversmiths. There is some darkening of the pearl next to the shanks as is typical, see photos. The upholstered chest is signed by a Baraboo, Wisconsin jeweler, and has some wear an stains as shown. Solid quarter sawn oak with brass mounts, there is a brass presentation plaque that was not engraved. There is no key to the chest, size is 19" wide, 13" deep and 9" tall.
