Around 40 years old, this grandfather or tall case clock is signed by famous maker, "Herschede of Starkville, Miss." All original, the mahogany case has a very fine finish with only minor mars, see photos.
The polished gold plated filigree dial and lacquered brass parts are beautiful on this American made vintage furniture.
The brass movement keeps excellent time and runs for a week when wound. There is a lever for "strike/silent," also on the quarter hour, the familiar Westminster melody is played on five resonant nickel chime tubes.
Measurements of this classic case are 22" wide, 12" deep and 6' 8" tall.

This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
