A Georgian design mirror or "looking glass" has a faint date about 1915 in the silvering on the glass. Crafted entirely by hand, this period reflects America's fascination with designs of the Revolutionary period.
Solid mahogany with subtle dark gold accents and a carved eagle, the original satiny finish is in very fine condition on this American made furniture.
Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are various restorations over the years and a loss to the tip of the eagle's wing, see photos. A little antique "smoke" in the mirror shows its age.
Size is 23" wide, 45" tall and 1 1/2" deep.
