An Empire period tall chest or dresser from around 1840 is solid walnut with curly or birdseye maple drawer fronts.
The satiny finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Drawers have tiny hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Shaped columns and clean lines are understated. The hand planed back is attached with cut square nails. There are shrinkage separations from age and feet are rebuilt.
Measurements are 45" wide, 21" deep and 47" tall.
