A classic Georgian design sideboard was given a granite top to serve as a kitchen counter island with space behind for stools. Hand hewn of solid oak about 1840 in England, the back side has original hand chamfered panels.
The "Verde Peacock" granite top has polished edges all around. The base has been revarnished for durability, there are restorations and shrinkage separations from age for a antique character. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and are completely hand crafted, so they do not fit precisely, see photos.
Heavy pierced cast solid brass hardware is antique. The key for the lower door is a handle only, the lock does not work. Raised panels, carved wooden pegs and mortise joints are authentic on this antique hand carved British furniture.
Measurements are 80" long, 33" deep and 36 1/2" tall, including the removable top.
