This elegant armoire or wardrobe was masterfully carved in France about 1910, and has four shaped and beveled mirrors.
The original finish is very well preserved on glowing matched and banded walnut, and has been waxed and buffed. All that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Deeply sculpted carving and gentle curves are beautiful on this antique furniture. The tip of the crest is missing.
Mirrors have a hint of antique "smoke" and tiny losses to show their age. There are shrinkage separations from age as shown. Brass hardware is original. The working door lock is a double throw. There is a slight warp to the right door, see photos, so it needs a nudge at the top to lock. The interior is oak and has a drawer, shelves or a closet pole could be installed as desired. This armoire can be disassembled for easier transport.
Measurements are 55" wide at the crown, 21" deep, 95 1/2" tall, the interior is 16" deep.
