A wonderful armoire, wardrobe or closet was hand hewn about 1780 in France. The front and drawers inside are cherry, sides are oak.
The original finish has been rewaxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Every surface is hand planed, joints have carved wooden pegs.
The giant door lock and key still work on this genuine Country French or provincial antique furniture. The right door has a warp from age, see photos. Inside are shelves with massive hand dovetailed drawers underneath, one pull is a replacement. Interior depth is 24" so a closet pole could be installed if desired. The crown is removable, this substantial piece does not disassemble otherwise.
