French Carved Walnut Antique Sideboard, Galleries, Black Marble

Richly carved of walnut in France about 1895, this sideboard has a black marble top, galleries and upper storage compartments. The original warm brown finish has been polished to a warm glowing patina.

There is a pull out serving shelf, and the embossed brasses are original. Drawers are hand dovetailed on this graceful antique furniture. The beautifully grained black and white marble is in wonderful condition. An arched dramatic crest has carved and pierced detailing. Minor mars, stains, repairs and shrinkage separations prove its age, see photo.

Size is 5'3" wide, 27" deep, 8'3" tall and the marble top is 35" above the floor.
