Ceillet by Tairo Art Nouveau Antique Sculpture

Sculpted in the Art Nouveau period about 1900, this lovely stature of a young woman is very naturalistic. There is a brass plate signed "Ceillet par Tairo," and the base of the sculpture itself is also signed.

The patina is beautiful on deep bronze toned alloy metal similar to pewter, often called spelter or white metal. There is wear at the corners of the original base, which is red marble grained wood and an old repair to the arm, see photo.

Looking to the side with a curious, interested gaze, the draping of her dress is beautiful. Height of this antique French work of art is 24" tall.
