A New England country pine trunk, blanket chest or bench was beautifully hand made about 1830, and could serve as a charming coffee table.
Fine hand cut dovetails secure the corners, square nailheads are visible. The satiny finish is excellent with warm antique patina.
We have applied several coats of finish to seal the interior, but when the lid is opened, there is a noticeable mothball scent, not noticeable when closed. This would be a very safe place to store woolens, protecting them from moths.
Picturesque American made furniture, measurements are 39 1/2" long, 17 1/2" wide and 19" tall.
