Built in the 1920's for the famous menswear department at Marshall Field department store in Chicago, this large display cabinet or showcase has adjustable glass shelves and original hardware.
The original finish is in very good condition with warm patina. Touched up over the years, there are just enough mars and wear for antique character on this American made store furniture.
Removable plate glass doors slide smoothly, they have numerous chips as shown and could be replaced if desired. There are also chips on the plate glass shelves. This classical cabinet disassembles for moving, the base is one piece.
Upper posts, top crown, glass ends and back panels are all separate pieces, so a crew of four is needed to assemble this grand piece in place.
Very strong and solid when put together, dimensions are 12' 4" wide, 24" deep, 7' 7" tall and the base is 34" high.
