This "Petticoat" table is traditional southern plantation furniture where the lower mirror was used to check petticoats. Stately yet graceful Empire design distinguishes a hall console table.
The top is solid mahogany with an old repaired shrinkage separation - see photos, the classic base is matched flame grain mahogany, all with a beautiful lustrous finish in excellent condition.
Dating from the 1890's, the original mirror has a little "smoke" to show its age.
Measurements of this historic American antique furniture are 46" wide, 20" deep and 36" tall.
